Author and Van Life Enthusiast
This is the ultimate guide on Lady Bugout for 2024.
Over the last 18 months, I have watched almost 21 hours of YouTube videos created by Dee Yaccino.
For me, she’s that friendly #vanlife content creator without the drama or click-bait.
If you’re curious about:
👉 How Dee afforded her little red van
👉 How much money she makes on YouTube
👉 Where she has traveled to
👉 If she is single or married
👉 What issues and controversies she has handled
👉 How you can live van life within the next 90 days
Then you’ve definitely come to the right website.
Before we begin, a quick intro from the Van Life Freedom author…
The Van Life Freedom Author
Hello there fellow van life enthusiast. I’m Joshua.
I’ve discovered the ultimate business model for remote workers.
With this business model, I’m easily able to:
👉 Own my own van completely debt-free
👉 Survive for several days without wifi
👉 Create semi-passive income online
👉 Run my business from any parking lot
But hey, let’s talk about that later. Back to Lady Bugout…
Lady Bugout FAQs (March 2024)
Van Name
The Ladybug
Creators
Dee Yaccino, aged 52.
She lived in Bolivia between 1991 to 1996 with a mostly off-grid lifestyle where she came to appreciate the simpler things in life.
Today she is a grandmother who enjoys visiting her kids and grandkids.
She is divorced and single, and is open to the idea of dating again.
The Van
Lady Bugout has a 2010 Ford Transit Connect van.
The interior height is 5’4″ while she is 5′ 8″ so she can’t stand up.
Despite the small size, she absolutely loves it and wouldn’t change.
Upgrades
Dee has upgraded her van with:
👉 Yescom Awning
👉 Tatami Mattress
👉 Faucet Pump
👉 12v Heater (100w)
Surprisingly, she also has a toilet and shower too!
Affording It
Dee has raised her own daughters years ago and didn’t have that much money in the early days. She still works full-time as a remote worker.
She only paid $5,995 for her van, plus approximately $1,600 for her cabinets, bed and accessories, making this an affordable van build.
It had 69,000 miles on the van when she bought it.
Making Money
Dee makes her money on YouTube through:
👉 Advertising that runs on her videos
👉 Amazon affiliate links under her videos
👉 Her 100+ loyal Patreon subscribers
It’s estimated that she makes $2,700/month bringing her net worth to around $170,000. Interestingly enough, she makes more per month than the $1,600 she paid for her van. Definitely wise!
She also works as a consultant for international community development and some charities. She works in this role remotely.
Collabs
Dee has collaborated with various YouTubers since starting around 2 years ago. These include:
👉 Her 100+ loyal Patreon subscribers
👉 Her 100+ loyal Patreon subscribers
👉 Her 100+ loyal Patreon subscribers
We’re looking forward to seeing more collaborations in the near future.
Location
She lives in Illinois usually and sometimes visits the Pacific Northwest. She doesn’t live a transitional life and instead chooses to live #vanlife on a part-time basis, most notably as a boondocker.
Past Travels
Dee hasn’t traveled as extensively as others have but has visited Colorado and California.
Big Moments
Some notable moments in her #vanlife journey include:
👉 Injuring her wrist (sprain) while dancing at nightime
👉 Getting a front flat tire on her van (without a spare)
👉 Almost getting kicked out when boondocking in CA
Fortunately, she hasn’t done anything controversial, nor does she create any unnecessary drama with her channel.
Future Plans
Dee wishes to continue her journey and may move into the lifestyle full-time in the immediate future.
Key Lessons
What can we learn from Dee? A ton:
👉 You don’t need an expensive van
👉 You can live #vanlife in your 50’s
👉 You also don’t need a tall van
And of course, you need to have a lot of fun!
Conclusion
Lady Bugoug is an oddity in the #vanlife movement. She’s much older and yet creates engaging content that serves to help her audience.
And yet, she manages to do all this while working remotely and looking after her kids and grandkids. We salute her!
